The rainy season brings relief from the heat, but also a rise in infections spread by water, food and mosquitoes.
Simple precautions
Drink boiled or filtered water, eat freshly cooked food and avoid water collecting near your home.
Protect against mosquitoes
Use nets and repellents and wear full-sleeved clothes, especially in the evening.
When to see a doctor
High fever for more than two days, severe body ache, vomiting or bleeding needs prompt medical attention.
